Toronto FC Players Nominated for the Landon Donovan Award
As the MLS year-end awards season begins, we see players being recognized for their efforts during the regular season. Toronto FC has two players nominated for the prestigious Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award: Jonathan Osorio and Federico Bernardeschi.
Both players gave everything on the field and represented the club exceptionally well. Federico Bernardeschi, one of the key pieces in Herdman’s squad, was instrumental in creating and orchestrating Toronto FC’s play. He was the team's most decisive player, leading in goal contributions throughout the season.
On the other hand, Jonathan Osorio is a leader both on and off the field. In every game, he gave his all and has a deep connection with the fans due to his long-standing history with the club. His nomination is a testament to his value and the high level of play he displayed throughout the 2024 MLS season.
We now look forward to the winners of these awards being announced on Monday, October 21. Voting will close on October 21, with the results being tallied over the next three days. The final decisions will be revealed on October 24. The winners will be chosen by members of the media, club technical staff, and active MLS players, with each group representing 33.3% of the total vote. However, technical staff and players are not permitted to vote for nominees from their own teams.
This initiative encourages players and staff from different clubs to recognize the great work done by players from other teams, making the 2024 MLS year-end awards a positive and inclusive celebration of the league’s best performers.
