Throughout the season, John Herdman relied on just two goalkeepers: Sean Johnson and Luka Gavran. Sean Johnson, the primary goalkeeper, posted impressive stats this season. He played a total of 30 matches, keeping nine clean sheets—an excellent figure for the American goalkeeper.
Additionally, his footwork was solid, with a 76% passing accuracy. Johnson was crucial for Toronto FC in 2024, logging approximately 2,700 minutes. His performances were so strong that he received multiple call-ups to represent the United States during international windows.

On the other hand, Luka Gavran, a young goalkeeper, also earned significant minutes under Herdman’s leadership. Gavran played in 13 matches, keeping four clean sheets. He also demonstrated good passing ability, completing 72% of his passes, which is a promising sign for a goalkeeper who is gaining more and more confidence. In total, Gavran played 1,170 minutes for Toronto FC this season.
Unfortunately, third-choice goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh did not play any minutes in 2024. Herdman opted to use only two goalkeepers throughout the season, leaving Ranjitsingh without any playing time.
