Toronto FC has sent birthday wishes to their Irish defender, who is currently competing at the highest level in MLS and in all the tournaments that Toronto FC is participating in.

It’s a heartwarming acknowledgment of the positive impact this player has had since joining the club. His arrival at Toronto FC was one of the most surprising, considering his impressive European career, and the team hopes he continues to contribute effectively.

Kevin Long Turns 34

On this special day for the Irish footballer, it's important to highlight and reflect on his achievements throughout his career. Kevin Long has spent over 15 years as a professional footballer, competing at the highest levels in the Premier League, the EFL Championship, the UEFA Europa League, and now in MLS.

His most notable season came in 2017-2018 when he played at the highest competitive level with Burnley in the Premier League. During that season, he played 19 matches, scored one goal, and provided three assists over more than 1,500 minutes on the field, making him a key player for Burnley at the time.

While his arrival at Toronto FC this year hasn't been the most spectacular, Long has faced a challenging adaptation to MLS and Toronto FC. As a central defender, he has had a tough job, given the team’s defensive and midfield struggles.

Despite the challenges, Long has completed over 2,000 minutes in The Reds' jersey, playing 28 matches and scoring one goal. As he turns 34, it’s expected that Long will continue giving his best for Toronto FC. The team and head coach John Herdman hope he can keep developing as a professional during what may be the final years of his career.

With his defensive experience, Long is expected to help Toronto FC secure a spot in the MLS playoffs and possibly reach the final of the Canadian Championship.
