The player arrives as a free agent after his stint in Europe.

This new addition is Henry Wingo, a 28-year-old American footballer who joins the club as a free agent. However, DC United received $75,000 in GAM for his discovery rights. Wingo is an intriguing player, joining as a right-back and promising to deliver quality both defensively and offensively.

The signing was made official on July 18th. Although he joins as a free agent, his previous club was Ferencvaros TC of Hungary, where he played 102 matches, scored 2 goals, and provided 8 assists. He was a reliable player for the team in recent seasons, even participating in the UEFA Europa League and Champions League qualifying matches, boasting a fascinating journey through Europe.

His Beginnings in MLS

Wingo's career began in the MLS, specifically with the Seattle Sounders FC, where he started getting minutes with the reserves back in 2013. He has had an impressive career spanning nearly 10 years, making his professional debut at the young age of 18.

It will be important to see how Wingo integrates into John Herdman's squad and how he can contribute from his position and role to improve TFC in this final stretch of the season. Wingo is expected to bring a winning mentality, having been decorated in both MLS and Europe throughout his career. Fans eagerly anticipate his debut, possibly in the League Cup.
