In the last match played by Toronto FC against CF Montreal, several Toronto FC players were at risk, as receiving a yellow card would mean missing the next MLS match. Fortunately, only Raoul Petretta received a yellow card, meaning he will miss the next MLS match on August 24th.
Federico Bernardeschi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Jonathan Osorio managed to avoid suspension as they did not receive any yellow cards. Unfortunately, Raoul Petretta was booked in the 85th minute, and due to an accumulation of yellow cards, he will miss the game against Houston Dynamo in the next MLS round, which will take place after the conclusion of the League's Cup tournament.

A Crucial Moment Ahead for TFC’s Season
The League's Cup will start on July 27th, with Toronto FC debuting against New York Red Bulls, and their second match will be on August 4th against Pachuca. From there, it will be determined whether Toronto FC continues in the League's Cup or gets eliminated, which would grant them a brief break.
It's important to highlight the current phase of the season for Toronto FC. In their last five games, they have achieved two wins and three losses, four of which were in the MLS and one in the semifinal of the Canadian Championship against Forge FC. Although these results are not ideal, they represent an improvement after a negative streak that included up to seven consecutive losses.
- CF Montreal 1-0 Toronto FC | July 20
- Inter Miami 3-1 Toronto FC | July 17
- Philadelphia 1-2 Toronto FC | July 13
- Forge 2-1 Toronto FC | July 10
- Columbus Crew 4-1 Toronto FC | July 6
This more positive moment for Toronto FC is crucial, and without a doubt, John Herman will want to work closely with his squad to secure a spot in the MLS playoffs and reach the final of the Canadian Championship.
Additionally, the League's Cup, which is about to start, is another competition in which the team will seek to advance. It will be important to have the entire squad available, as the aforementioned yellow cards complicate the team's rotations game after game.
Moreover, it will be essential to avoid injuries and suspensions due to an accumulation of yellow cards or possible expulsions for the remainder of the season. Therefore, John Herman will also need to work on the team’s mentality to achieve the most positive results in this phase of the season.
