A new month of high competition is approaching for John Herdman's squad. As the 2024 season enters its final stretch, Toronto FC remains alive in all the competitions they are participating in, namely the MLS, the Canadian Championship, and the League's Cup.
July wasn't the best month for Toronto FC, as they played seven matches, winning only three and suffering four painful defeats, including a loss in the semifinals of the Canadian Championship.
However, August promises a renewed and winning mentality for Toronto FC, with hopes of securing as many victories as possible and remaining active in the League's Cup.
Current Situation of Toronto FC
In the MLS, John Herdman's team currently sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, with 27 points from 25 matches, comprising 8 wins, 14 losses, and 3 draws. While the record isn't stellar, they are still in contention for a playoff spot.
In the Canadian Championship, they are in the semifinals but trailing Forge FC 2-1 on aggregate. The return leg will be played at BMO Field in August, where Toronto FC hopes to secure a place in the final. They have also secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the League's Cup.
