However, the club is currently in a celebratory mood as Irish defender Shane O'Neill celebrates his birthday. On September 2nd, he turned 32, and he is being celebrated and congratulated for his great form and impressive seasons with Toronto FC.

Toronto FC Wishes Shane O'Neill a Happy 32nd Birthday

The player joined Toronto FC in 2022, and he has since played over 62 matches, becoming a crucial central defender for the club. Whenever he has been called upon, he has always responded in the best way possible, providing a solid presence for the team. His experience and leadership in defense have made him a key figure in John Herdman's current squad.

Looking back at his 2024 season, O'Neill has already played 18 matches, accumulating over 900 minutes. While he may not be a regular starter, he remains an important part of John Herdman's roster. O'Neill's career is also being celebrated, as he has spent over 12 years competing at the highest level in MLS. He also had a brief stint in the Netherlands, playing in the Eredivisie for several teams and leaving his mark there, but he primarily focused on MLS, where he has played for various teams and currently represents Toronto FC.

As a professional footballer, O'Neill has completed over 255 matches, accumulating nearly 20,000 minutes on the pitch. Toronto FC is celebrating his fantastic and remarkable career.

It’s also important to highlight that while O'Neill is now an Irish national, he initially represented the United States, competing in the youth divisions, where he played in more than 15 matches. Unfortunately, he never made it to the senior national team, which is a missed opportunity for the U.S., but this does not overshadow his impressive career, nor the form he is currently in with Toronto FC in MLS, where he hopes to help the team reach the playoffs.
