Rout to Reach the Canadian Championship Semifinal | Toronto FC (8-1) Saint-Laurent

On May 21st, Toronto FC hosted Saint-Laurent at BMO Field to play the second match of this series and determine who would advance to the semifinals of the Canadian Championship. With the best possible team, TFC took to the field to prove their worth as the home team.
In a match full of goals, it ended in a historic rout. Throughout the game, TFC displayed excellent performance, demonstrating their superiority and why they compete at the highest level in MLS.
Deandre Kerr and a Wonderful Night in Toronto
The player of the match was undoubtedly Deandre Kerr, who scored 4 goals throughout the game. Cassius Mailula, Derick Etienne, Prince Owusu, and an own goal by Nathan Goulet accounted for the other goals for TFC. On the visiting side, Rickson Aristilde scored at the end of the match to seal the aggregate score at 11-1.
Advancing to the semifinals is extremely important for TFC in the Canadian Championship. With a mindset instilled by Herdman, Toronto FC aims to win everything this season, giving the squad rotation where all players can showcase their potential and contribute to the club.
TFC is now preparing for their next match, where they will face Cincinnati in MLS on May 25th. They hope to demonstrate their strength at home in this new round of the MLS, as they take on the second-place team in the Eastern Conference. With Federico Bernardeschi leading the charge, they aim to secure a victory and continue collecting three points to move closer to the top of the conference.
