Once again, we saw a very positive performance from Prince Owusu in the team's offense. There was a stretch earlier in the season when Owusu was not at his best from match to match. However, during the game against Chicago Fire, he appeared much more focused and involved in Toronto FC's attack.
Despite the disappointing draw in MLS, which makes Toronto FC’s path to securing an Eastern Conference playoff spot more difficult, they are still alive in the race. It’s hoped that Prince Owusu will be one of those key forwards in the remaining two games to help Toronto FC qualify for the MLS playoffs and dream of competing for the championship in the 2024 season.

Prince Owusu’s Statistics against Chicago Fire
The 27-year-old striker played 61 minutes, scoring a crucial goal from the penalty spot at the end of the first half, putting Toronto FC ahead. He was also very active and involved in the team’s attack.
Owusu had 30 touches on the ball, proving to be important not only in attack but also in his role as a central striker pivot, an essential role for the German player. He completed 77% of his passes, successfully completing 10 out of 13 attempts, showing how he contributes to the overall play and is not just a static forward.
Moreover, we saw a positive statistic: out of the 17 duels he contested with Chicago Fire players, he won 7, a solid number that demonstrates Owusu’s determination to compete and find a scoring opportunity, whether in ground duels or aerial challenges. Unfortunately, he lost possession 8 times during the match, but this also highlighted his hunger and desire to push the team forward. This drive also led him to suffer 6 fouls during the match.
It was a very positive performance for Prince Owusu. He was substituted in the 61st minute for another in-form forward, Deandre Kerr, who played the remaining 29 minutes of the match but couldn’t influence the game enough to change the scoreline. Sadly, in the 84th minute, Chicago Fire equalized, making it 1-1 and shattering Toronto FC’s hopes of taking all three points and getting closer to the playoffs.
Now, the team must focus on training and preparing for the important upcoming match on October 2nd against New York Red Bulls, where Toronto FC hopes to win and see Prince Owusu make an impact once again.
