It was a matchup to test the strength of the Eastern Conference, with FC Cincinnati visiting Toronto FC for MLS matchday 16. Both teams came into the game in excellent form, having secured positive results in their recent encounters.

With a completely different mindset from their first meeting this season, Toronto FC displayed great play throughout the match. However, Cincinnati's critical blows ultimately secured them the three points in the 93rd minute of the game.

Deybi Flores Scores His First Goal for Toronto FC

In a closely contested match between the two clubs, the game came down to which team was more effective in front of goal. Toronto FC managed to control the game and took the lead. After the first 45 minutes, TFC went into halftime leading (1-0), courtesy of a corner kick goal where Deybi Flores scored from a brilliant cross by Lorenzo Insigne.

In the second half, the game took an unexpected turn, with Cincinnati turning the score around in less than 5 minutes. Luca Orellano scored in the 53rd minute and Kevin Kelsy added another in the 55th minute, putting the visitors ahead (1-2).

However, a few minutes later, a play orchestrated from the left wing resulted in a shot by Lorenzo Insigne that, after a deflection, ended up as an own goal for Cincinnati, making it 2-2. In the 79th minute, Cincinnati struck again with a goal by Luca Orellano.

TFC refused to give up, and after being awarded a penalty, Lorenzo Insigne converted it into a goal. However, Cincinnati delivered the final blow with a goal in the 93rd minute to secure the ultimate victory in this thrilling match.

With this defeat, Toronto FC finishes with 22 points in 6th place in the Eastern Conference, once again moving away from the top spot, which is held by Lionel Messi's Inter Miami. TFC cannot dwell on this loss and must immediately prepare for their next match, where they will visit the Philadelphia Union on May 29th for MLS Matchday 17.
