Key Player Returns to the Field for Toronto FC
• His temperament has been a challenge throughout this season
• Unfortunately, Toronto FC heavily depends on the Italian

After missing the match against Chicago Fire on June 15, following the return of the MLS from the international friendly break, the Italian player will be back in the starting lineup for Toronto FC.
In the tragic encounter between Toronto FC and Chicago Fire, the team appeared lost. Although the absences were not as significant as expected, the primary issue was the defensive zone, where both the midfielders and center-backs struggled with space coverage.
Toronto FC had opportunities, maintained possession, but their efficiency in front of goal was completely lost, a stark contrast to their opponent, whose effectiveness was ideal to thrash TFC 1-4.
Federico Bernardeschi Returns to Face Nashville
Federico Bernardeschi has been the most crucial player for the team this season. Although his start in 2024 was not the best, he has gradually improved. His direct play and playmaking have had a positive impact on Toronto FC.
After serving his suspension and missing the match against Chicago Fire, the Italian will be ready to face Nashville in a vital game to avoid losing points in the Eastern Conference. Currently, TFC is in 7th place, and it is imperative to earn three points to stay competitive.
It is worth noting that this season, Bernardeschi has participated in 15 MLS matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists, making him one of the most influential players in both the league and his club.

The Italian is a Plus in Herdman's Squad
It is expected that Bernardeschi will once again dominate the right wing against Nashville, playing more directly towards the goal, hoping to continue contributing to these statistics to keep TFC strong in the MLS. We will see Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi starting together again, a lineup that hasn’t been seen since the 5-1 victory in the 401 Derby against Montreal.
Herdman spoke after the match against Chicago Fire, making it clear that such a result would not happen again and that defensive work would be more demanding as they approach this part of the season, aiming to reach the MLS Playoffs.
