The rumour carousel has been circling around TFC so far this offseason. With reports that Barcelona have made an offer for Sebastian Giovinco and rumours that linked Jason Kreis to becoming the next manager, Toronto FC have been part a wild rumour storm.
Going along with all of those are the rumour that Sebastian Giovinco could have a couple of his fellow Azzurri teammates Andrea Barzagli and Daniele De Rossi come to Toronto.
The report comes from Italian news site calciomercato. The publication brought up that if TFC want to their Atomic Ant in Toronto, then they might have to go to Italy and bring over a couple of his Italian teammates to prove that the team is trying to fix their weaknesses.

Barzagli is apart of Champions League runner up Juventus, and has been a top centre back in the Serie A. His contract does run out this coming summer, and Juventus might be willing to sell the Italian so they can get something, rather than nothing. However, Barzagli is 34 years-old and has a history with injuries. He only appeared in 10 matches last year, and it seems his age is catching up to him.
The other player the site mentioned TFC is linked to, is AS Roma defensive midfielder, Daniele De Rossi. This one will be harder to sell, as De Rossi has a contract until June 2017, is still a very important player in the Roma lineup, and has a few more years left in him. De Rossi is 32 years-old, but like fellow Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo, age is just a number.

These recent rumours may be a little to hard to believe. The fact that they could be linked to not just one World Cup winner, but two, is huge for the MLS and Toronto FC. If these are true, having a player like Barzagli in the backline will be nice to have to solve the defensive woes. A player like De Rossi will be perfect for the Reds. His ability to pick off passes and find the right player, in the right spot, that would really help the Reds get into the attacking play. Imagine De Rossi setting up Giovinco, that would be something to watch.
