Toronto FC's Robin Fraser provided an update on the injuries to both Federico Bernardeschi and Jonathan Osorio.
Bernardeschi came off in the 70th minute against NYCFC on Saturday with an apparent knock, signalling to the coaching staff that he had an issue with his foot. While Fraser did not provide an update on Bernardeschi after the NYCFC match, he was asked after the Montreal fixture if Bernardeschi could play this weekend against the New England Revolution.
"I think so. I wouldn't say we are 100% sure but we think so. It's just a little bit of instability in his ankle, and we just want to make sure it's safe for him. We don't want to put him out there just because we need him to play."Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser
Fraser also provided an injury update on Jonathan Osorio, who came off in the 21st minute after colliding with teammate Lazar Stefanovic. It was quickly apparent that Osorio had injured his shoulder on the play, and ultimately it was bad enough that he could not continue. Fraser confirmed post-match that it indeed was his shoulder that was injured and that his current recovery timeline is unknown until further testing.
"I think [his shoulder] subluxed. I've seen people recover from it quickly and I've seen people take a really long time. So, not until we do some sort of exam will we be able to tell how severe it is. It's going to hurt for a while... not saying he cannot play with it, depending on how bad it is... but it's going to hurt for a while. "Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser
The play of Osorio has been criticized this season, and while it's true he has not been what he can be for Toronto, he is far from the only player not playing to their standards. In what will hopefully only be a short-term issue, a hole in the midfield will still need to be filled, given Osorio's routine of playing all 90 minutes most nights.

On top of that, someone will have to don the captain's armband in his absence. It was a bit of a controversial choice to see Insigne put on the captain's armband yet again for Toronto FC versus Montreal, especially given the uncertainty of his future at the club.
Sean Johnson would be a logical choice to wear the captain's armband should Osorio be sidelined, given that he was previously the captain for NYCFC. Bernardeschi, who's worn the armband multiple times in Osorio's absence, is also a reasonable option.
