Transfer drama: Will Federico Bernardeschi make a Juventus comeback?
Federico Bernardeschi is eyeing a return to Juventus, aiming to trade Toronto for Turin this month. The 29-year-old Italian forward left Juventus after a five-year stint in the summer of 2022, opting for a new challenge with Toronto FC in MLS.
Despite a promising start, Bernardeschi's last season with Toronto was disappointing, with just five goals and two assists in 31 league matches. Unhappy with his current situation, he seeks a comeback to Serie A.
According to Tuttosport via TMW, Bernardeschi awaits a return to Juventus, but the club is prioritizing other deals at the moment. A potential offer is likely to materialize in the closing days of the January transfer window. The move may also hinge on the fate of Filip Kostic, who hasn't impressed in Turin and could be considering a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Agent Andrea D'Amico recently discussed the situation on Radio 24, addressing the potential return of the former Fiorentina player to Juventus. While speculating on a possible loan deal, D'Amico stated, "I don't have any news from Toronto at the moment. Let's see, now the preseason retreat begins... If Insigne returns to Italy? I don't think so."
