The sports staff of Toronto FC has confirmed the players who will not be available to participate in the match against Orlando City next April 27th.
Among the absences, Italian footballer Lorenzo Insigne continues to be absent, and it seems that his return will continue to be delayed at least until the second week of May.
These players will miss the match against Orlando City:
- Lorenzo Insigne - Thigh (Out)
- Richie Laryea - Thigh (Out)
- Shane O’Neill - Thigh (Out)
- Brandon Servania - Knee (Out)
However, there is also the possibility that Deandre Kerr will return to play a match with TFC, as he is listed as questionable for this encounter.
This match is extremely important for The Reds, as despite being in fifth position in the Eastern Conference of the MLS, they must continue to demonstrate what they are made of this season and prove they are contenders to enter the playoffs and compete for the title against any team.
The race for the MLS playoffs is tighter than ever
Orlando City, currently in 12th position, is also closely chasing a playoff spot. Toronto FC holds a 4-point advantage over them, making this match crucial for both clubs as they enter the latter part of the season. For the visitors, winning away from home has been a challenge, as they have not secured an away victory since March 3rd against New England, in a 1-0 win.
Historically, Toronto's results against Orlando have not been very positive, but this season, TFC looks like a completely different team compared to previous years. Their offense, led by Prince Owusu, has been highly effective, with the German forward currently the top scorer for The Reds, having scored 4 goals in their last 3 matches.
The objective for John Herdman's team will be to secure their second consecutive victory in the MLS and position themselves higher in the Eastern Conference standings. Led by Jonathan Osorio, the team will aim to continue their positive momentum and collect three points with the same attitude they have shown in recent matches.
