Toronto FC made headlines today with the announcement of defender Luke Singh's loan to Atlético Ottawa for the remainder of the 2024 season, marking another chapter in the young player's promising career.

At 23, Singh has already garnered significant experience, having spent the past two seasons on loans with FC Edmonton and Atlético Ottawa in the Canadian Premier League (CPL). During this time, he accumulated 48 appearances, showcasing his defensive prowess and contributing on the field.

Singh's initial stint with Atlético Ottawa saw him make 27 appearances and net one goal across various competitions, including the CPL regular season and the Canadian Championship. Before this, he spent a season on loan at FC Edmonton, where he featured in 24 matches, further honing his skills in competitive environments.

The defender's journey began when he signed a Homegrown Player contract with Toronto FC in April 2021. His debut season with the Reds saw him make eight appearances and score a crucial goal, demonstrating his potential at the highest level. Notably, Singh made his First Team debut against Club Leon in the Round of 16 at the Concacaf Championship, marking a memorable milestone in his career.

Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Singh's development continued as he joined Toronto FC II in 2019 before embarking on a loan spell with Danish club Brøndby IF. His time abroad saw him make 24 appearances and score two goals, further diversifying his skill set. Upon his return to Toronto FC II for the 2021 campaign, Singh continued to impress, making significant contributions in the USL League One.

On the international stage, Singh has proudly represented Trinidad & Tobago, showcasing his talent at both youth and senior levels. His appearances at the Concacaf U-20 Championship and the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup underscore his commitment and potential to excel on multiple fronts.
