John Herdman’s Work This Season

A review of Toronto FC’s recent MLS matches shows a mixed record of two losses and three wins in their last five games. Their most recent match was on August 31, when they faced DC United at home at BMO Field.

Despite expectations of a highly competitive performance following their comeback in the Canadian Championship against Forge FC, Toronto FC delivered a lackluster performance and suffered a 3-1 defeat at home.

Currently, Toronto FC sits in 8th place in the Eastern Conference with 33 points from 28 games. The team needs to continue accumulating points to secure their spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs and compete in the crucial final stretch of the 2024 season to determine the champion.

John Herdman had two weeks to work with several players who did not participate in international duties. While Richie Laryea, Jonathan Osorio, and Deybi Flores were away with their national teams during the international break, they are expected to return to Toronto FC in peak condition to contribute their winning capabilities.
