As we approach the final stretch of the season, Toronto FC finds itself in a tough spot in the Eastern Conference. This was evident in a difficult match against one of the best teams in MLS, Columbus Crew, at BMO Field, where Toronto FC desperately needed a win.
Unfortunately, they were unable to secure it due to their lack of finishing, something Columbus Crew didn't struggle with, as they walked away with a crucial three points in this pivotal moment of the season.

A Difficult Game for John Herdman’s Side
Throughout the game, John Herdman opted to field his best starting eleven, including his two most important players, Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi. However, even with these two key figures, Toronto FC couldn’t break through Columbus Crew’s defense, failing to score in the match.
Meanwhile, Columbus Crew’s star player, Colombian striker El Cucho Hernández, made a significant difference. In the first half, there wasn't much separating the two sides, with Toronto FC even looking stronger at times. But it was in the second half that El Cucho Hernández came on and changed the game.
The Colombian entered the field in the 46th minute and quickly made an impact, scoring in the 51st minute. He continued to influence the game, providing an assist for Columbus Crew's second goal in the 70th minute, effectively sealing the 2-0 victory and leaving Toronto FC with no chance to recover.
Now, Toronto FC finds itself in a precarious position in the Eastern Conference. Currently sitting in eighth place with 36 points from 30 games, they are being closely chased by teams with a game in hand, making their playoff spot far from secure. With several matches left to play, Toronto FC must bring out their best form to achieve the much-desired goal of reaching the MLS playoffs this season.
