In a highly challenging encounter for John Herdman’s team, Toronto FC managed to secure three crucial points in their season, which is heading towards the playoffs.
With the goal of securing a postseason spot in the MLS, Sean Johnson played a pivotal role in Toronto FC’s 2-1 victory over Austin FC, navigating a tough final stretch but ultimately securing the win.

Sean Johnson Crucial in TFC’s Victory
American goalkeeper Sean Johnson, at 35 years old, continues to demonstrate his top-tier skills, proving that his experience and quality are invaluable for Toronto FC this season. Throughout the 90 minutes of play, Johnson made six key saves, preventing 1.19 goals, and played a crucial role in ensuring that Austin FC could only score once.
Johnson was also instrumental with his feet and in Toronto FC's buildup, registering 51 touches and achieving a 68% passing accuracy with 25 of 37 passes completed. However, his long balls were less precise, completing only 8 of 20 attempts.
The veteran goalkeeper remains a cornerstone for Toronto FC, both on and off the field, showing leadership and experience that contribute to winning matches.
