Federico Bernardeschi, a player of just 30 years old, where although he has the age to continue at a fairly high footballing level.

His time at Juventus in Italy was one of the best in his career, where he has played Champions League matches, recognized as the best club-level competition. But, is it the level that Toronto fans expected from the Italian?

Bernardeschi's trajectory so far at Toronto FC

By the year 2023, the Italian managed to debut in the MLS with The Reds, where in this complementary season, he played 31 matches wearing Toronto's shirt. However, his contribution in terms of goals was not as expected, with 5 goals and 2 assists, the Italian finished his season that year without managing to qualify for the MLS Playoffs in the Eastern group, finishing in the last position with 22 points in 34 matches.

During this 2024 season, Bernardeschi has played in all the matches with Toronto FC, where his goal contribution has been null this season. After 8 matches played so far, he has not managed to score any goals or provide any assists to the club, leaving him in an unfavorable position for the club, and his signing has not managed to have the expected impact on the team, becoming dominant in this MLS.

Additionally, the Italian is questionable for today's match between Toronto vs New England Revolution at the BMO Field, a possible absence that could affect The Reds. However, we will only know at the last moment whether he will participate in the match.

The objective this season is to reach the Playoffs

With the work done by coach John Herdman, it is expected that this season Toronto will manage to enter the Playoffs phase, being one of the clubs competing to be champion in this MLS.

It is important to have the most optimal availability of all players, and figures like Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi are expected to be at 100% in their physical condition to contribute positively to The Reds this season.
