Henry Wingo Already Gave His First Statements as a Toronto FC Player

The 21-year-old player who recently joined TFC has already given his first statements and impressed John Herdman's squad and the coaching staff during training, taking his first steps with the club.

He perceives the team as having a competitive hunger this season and aims to contribute his winning mentality and skills as a right-back. He is expected to make his debut on August 4 against CF Pachuca.

"In my times coming here in the past, I was attracted to the city and the club and the support the team gets. I think it’s a special place to play and it stood out compared to some of the other options I had in the league. I was just excited more than anything about this opportunity compared to some other ones."

He also mentioned how he is integrating with the squad, even though he didn't know many players personally before. He finds himself in a very friendly and positive environment. It has been a wonderful stage for the player, as he is just starting to get acclimated to the team. Wingo has also competed in the best tournaments in Europe, including the UEFA Champions League, facing top European teams while playing in Hungary and leaving a notable mark there.

"It was a great three-and-a-half years. I was really fortunate to play for a club that had a really high standard. We competed in Europe every single season, that was my goal when I moved over to Europe. We won the league every single year in Hungary."
