Turin-born Sebastian Giovinco, hailing from a family of AC Milan enthusiasts, embarked on his football odyssey at the age of 9 in 1996 when he joined the Juventus academy alongside his brother Giuseppe.

Despite debuting with Juventus at a young age and showing promise as one of the world's best, Giovinco struggled to secure a foothold in European football. Eventually, he made a bold move to MLS, where he found the success that had eluded him on the European stage.

In January 2015, Giovinco inked a deal with Toronto FC, making a mark in the league as its highest-paid player at the time, earning a staggering $7 million annually for a 5-year contract. His arrival in Canada marked the beginning of a remarkable chapter in his career.

Giovinco wasted no time in leaving an indelible mark in the MLS. In his debut season, he shattered several league records, including the most assists (16) and goals (22) in a single season. He clinched the MVP award, Rookie of the Year (in the MLS), and the Golden Boot.

In 2016, he became the all-time leading scorer for Toronto FC, securing the Canadian Championship and reaching the MLS Cup final, although narrowly missing the title. The following year, in 2017, he once again claimed the Canadian Championship and was honored with the George Gross Memorial Trophy for the tournament's best player.
