Brandon Servanía has had a challenging 2024 season with Toronto FC. The player has not managed to rejoin John Herdman’s squad or play a single minute in MLS this season due to a serious ACL injury he sustained last year.

He has been recovering as best as possible to get back with TFC, but he has not played any minutes since his last appearance on September 21 against Inter Miami, where he played 14 minutes before having to leave the game due to his injury.

His return might be getting closer

Currently, the player will be loaned to Toronto FC II while he continues his recovery. It is expected that he will follow a rehabilitation plan to improve his physical condition. Given that he has been away from professional play for over a year, it is best for him to gradually ease back into the game. It is hoped that he will be available to face Atlanta United II as his first match back on the field.

Servanía still promises a bright future, and if he can overcome his physical condition, he could be a fantastic addition for John Herdman’s team in the final stretch of the season. Having joined from FC Dallas, Cervanía competed in 31 matches for Toronto FC last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in over 1,900 minutes of play.

The midfielder had been performing well with FC Dallas, showing improvement over time, and the plan was for Herdman to utilize him effectively this season. However, his return from injury has faced several setbacks.

While no confirmed return date is available, it is hoped that Servanía will be ready as soon as possible, allowing Toronto FC to benefit from his presence in the final stretch of the MLS season and the Canadian Championship if TFC advances to the final.
