There's been plenty of speculation around the future of Jesús Jiménez at Toronto FC and what it could mean for the club going forward. After joining from Górnik Zabrze last year, Jiménez scored 9 goals over the course of the season but notably scored just a single goal in his last 16 games before the season ended. On August 21st, Jiménez was completely dropped from the squad for a match against Inter Miami before returing the game after.

Bob Bradley was vocal at times last season on the peformances of Jesús Jiménez:

So what's next? It's not out of question that Jiménez will be bought out by Toronto to open up space to bring in a new striker. Ayo Akinola will also have to figure out what his place on Toronto's squad next season will be, after beginng the 2022 season recovering from an ACL injury.

Should Jesús Jiménez leave the club, it would be reasonable to assume it would have to happen this month as Jesús Jiménez can only play for European sides this season if his contract expires during the transfer window.

How will these questions be answered? As we edge closer to the start of the regular season, we will find out soon enough.
