Toronto FC has made a significant move by signing defender Adam Pearlman to a First Team contract as a Homegrown player, securing his services through 2027 with an option for 2028.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Pearlman's journey to Toronto FC is a testament to his dedication and talent, having joined the Academy in 2016 after stints with local clubs.

At just 18 years old, Pearlman becomes the latest addition to the club's esteemed roster of Homegrown talent, marking the 33rd player in Toronto FC history to make the leap from the club's academy to the First Team.

General Manager Jason Hernandez expressed his satisfaction with Pearlman's development, stating, "We are happy to have Adam continue his football growth with us as a Homegrown signing this season." He praised Pearlman's standout performances both at the Academy level and in MLS NEXT Pro, as well as his contributions on the international stage.

Pearlman's journey to Toronto FC's First Team began with Toronto FC II, where he amassed an impressive 48 appearances over two seasons in MLS NEXT Pro action. Last season, he earned a short-term loan with Toronto FC, making his debut as a substitute against St. Louis City SC on July 8, 2023.

Before his professional exploits, Pearlman honed his skills in the Toronto FC Academy, representing the club across various age groups and leagues. Notably, he participated in the U-13 CONCACAF Champions League with the TFC Academy in 2018, showcasing his potential on the international stage.
