• An agreement is expected with this 25-year-old player

Toronto FC was considering a positive salary increase for this player, but unfortunately, the option to extend his contract was not exercised. This decision came as the player faced significant challenges in the 2024 season, prompting the team to make tough choices regarding his future with the club.
Consequently, Brandon Servania, who was expected to remain with Toronto FC, will not extend his contract as anticipated in recent months. Servania struggled with injury issues during the 2023 season, limiting his play in 2024 and complicating matters for the team. Despite these challenges, at just 25 years old, he is considered a promising talent with the potential to become a key player over time.

Brandon Servania Would Have Received a Raise with a Contract Extension
Servania’s 2024 salary was $602,780, making him one of the higher-paid players on the team. The club has indicated that select players who did not opt for a contract extension with Toronto FC could still enter discussions for a possible new deal. Re-signing some of these players could benefit the team’s depth.
While many of these players aren’t core starters for TFC, the club remains open to considering their contributions. For instance, Servania, who still holds promise at 25, could be a valuable asset if he returns fully fit. In 2024, he only managed three appearances after recovering from injury late in the season, which limited his ability to demonstrate his full potential. Toronto FC is interested in negotiating a new deal with him to secure his services for 2025, provided an agreement can be reached.
General Manager Jason Hernandez confirmed ongoing discussions with Servania and others, highlighting the importance of these talks for Toronto’s 2025 roster. Along with Servania, other players like Aime Mabica, Shane O'Neill, and goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh opted not to extend their contracts but still hold roles within the squad rotation.
The offseason brings an opportunity for Toronto FC to make important roster decisions, especially as they begin a significant rebuild following their MLS playoff exit. With preparations underway for the 2025 season, the club is actively reshaping its roster.
