CF Montreal strengthens with former Toronto FC player Luca Petrasso

Meanwhile, Toronto FC’s main rival, CF Montréal, has been active in the market, signing former TFC defender Luca Petrasso. The 24-year-old fullback joins on a deal that includes options through 2027, adding another young Canadian talent to Montréal’s squad.

His move follows a stint at Orlando City, but before that, he was part of Toronto FC, where he played 23 matches for the first team before departing in 2022. Notably, Petrasso was part of the Toronto FC squad that won the 2020 Canadian Championship.

His arrival in Montréal, where his older brother Michael Petrasso once played, further intensifies the rivalry between the two clubs. As Toronto FC remains relatively inactive, seeing a former player strengthen a direct competitor only adds to the frustration of TFC supporters.
