Toronto FC’s midfielder, Deybi Flores, is showing a fantastic level of form during this part of the season. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the most decisive player for Toronto FC this year, as John Herdman’s team failed to qualify for the Playoffs in the Eastern Conference and will head into the offseason.

The regular season did not meet the expectations set for making it into the postseason. Now, Deybi Flores has gone to represent his country, Honduras, and had two fabulous matches where his performance was excellent, including a goal during this FIFA window.

Deybi Flores’ Stats During the International Break

We saw how the 28-year-old midfielder competed strongly against two very competitive teams in the CONCACAF Nations League. In one match, Honduras faced French Guiana in a very challenging game that caused some problems for the Honduran team.

Deybi Flores started the match and played the full 90 minutes, scoring a goal in Honduras’ 2-3 victory. He was one of the best players on the field, showing his mobility in the middle of the pitch. Flores had 71 touches of the ball and completed 87% of his passes, an impressive statistic for a player so crucial in both playmaking and defense.

In the second match, Honduras played against Jamaica, in a very competitive encounter. Once again, Deybi Flores started and played the entire 90 minutes, but had a less prominent role.

He recorded 35 touches of the ball and completed 81% of his passes, maintaining a high passing accuracy, but wasn’t as influential in creating offensive plays to help his team score. It’s worth noting, though, that Honduras was the better team, with 13 total shots, several of which were on target. Jamaica’s goalkeeper was the standout player, making five key saves to deny Honduras.

Deybi Flores is in great form and proving to be a very talented midfielder. He offers a strong offensive contribution while also providing defensive stability for his team. Expectations are high that he will continue at this level next season, as Toronto FC has plans for him to remain an integral part of their squad.
